Organized and well mannered staff.
Nasty, nasty receptionist. I was astonished at the total lack of professionalism. I walked out. Two other patients in the waiting room complained to me and said they also complained "inside." With that in mind, it looks like no changes will be made with regard to the staff.
Dr Lui is a skilled and capable physician. However the complaints about his office staff are justified. They seem unpleasant at times and even disinterested. One woman in the office however was very helpful so they are not all at fault. His clinical staff on the other hand were great. I had a colonoscopy and another procedure that worked out very well. One thing I did not like was that when I asked Dr. Lui how long I would have to take medication for a mild ulcer his response was "forever." I prefer a more organic approach.
One thing I found funny was when I asked how many procedures the doctor would be doing that day the assistant told me that around the clinic they call him "The Machine."
I have been super sick for a month and back and forth to the ER. I was told I need a GI Dr. I was scheduled a few weeks out and I went today. I guess they did not give back my insurance cards at the hospital but I didn't know that since I was to sick to deal with it. I assumed they were in my wallet. The lady at the front was so rude and told me she can't take a faxed copy of my insurance card. I offered her my ID # and phone # and she called his wife Mae and she said no. I begged to stay at the appointment and she told me they had to reschedule. I wouldn't go back there if I was dying. A Dr. that only cares about the bottom line sure doesn't care about his patients is a crappy Dr. I even used to run his surgery center office and they still wouldn't let me keep the appointment. Horrible office staff- Find another Dr. We also tried to schedule my husband a few weeks before this and the lady that called my husband was very pissy with him. I called back and she said she was to busy and needed to call me back and she never did. Guess that should have been my first clue
Dr. Lui's accurate diagnosis and treatment vastly improved the quality of my life. Thank you Dr. Lui!!!
The complaint about his staff doing all the work is partially true but I find that's how it is with most doctors these days. After they did the prelim exams I was told I would be speaking with a nurse practitioner. When I objected they said OK and I instead met with Dr Lui. His bedside manner needs some work but he is a friendly guy and knows his stuff.
