4. MISREPRESENTATION of the pool. The home is advertised as a “Wonderful winter get away. Delightful pool home…”. They failed to mention that it is completely unusable unless you like to swim in 50 degree water! I did my research on this home and could see the solar pool heater on the roof of the home…however, I didn’t think to verify if it actually worked. It doesn’t and the pool is bone chilling cold! Upon our complaint we were told that it did not say “heated” in the ad. This is the MAIN reason we rented the home. We have a 2 year old and planned to use this pool daily….obviously not the case. DO NOT RENT THIS HOME IF A POOL IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!

Barbara helped us out with a last minute seasonal rental when my Mom got sick. She was great, found us a very nice home. I was disappointed when we decided to buy we were referred to a different "sales" realtor who really dropped the ball. We ended up using another agency. But Barbara Foster was a great rental agent.

7. PREPAYMENT of entire lease due upfront. While this isn’t a problem for us to prepay, it became a problem when we wanted to leave this awful place. We tried to cancel and get a partial refund but they said that was not possible and we would have to forfeit our entire PREPAID rental monies. We were OK with losing out on some but not ALL of our monies.

Rented a home at 5966 62nd Lane, Vero Beach, FL from 1/3/16 to 4/9/16 for $4000 per month plus deposits.

Below are a list of the issues with this property.

This is the worst property I have ever rented. I would say most of the problems would lie with the actual owner however the realtor who helped us find (and who manages) this rental should be held accountable for some of the issues.

5. Heat didn’t work. In January, the temps dropped into upper 30’s and 40’s. Imagine my surprise when we had no heat! I have a 2 year old and this was unacceptable. We contacted the realtor who gave us number to heating person. This was fixed in all but the bed room area. Now we just run fans to blow heat from the warmer areas to the bed rooms on chilly nights.

I feel like we were scammed and it has made our winter get away much less enjoyable. I will ensure to only rent from higher end realtors who come personally recommended.

1. SAFETY…no smoke alarms! I believe this is against the law to rent a home that does not have 1 single smoke alarm. The realtor who rented/manages should ensure their homes are safe.

2. BUGS! The house was infested with ants and roaches. The kitchen was overrun with ants and there were VERY LARGE cock roaches throughout the house. We contacted the realtor, yet the exterminator number they gave us never answered or returned messages. We had to hire our own and have worked very hard on exterminating and keeping the bugs out and it is a constant struggle.

3. DIRTY! The house was so dirty when we moved in, we had to get cleaners here right away. There was layers of dust on everything, dirt on all the floors, bathrooms were not sanitized and there was visible dirt in most of the house. The cleaners even commented on how dirty the home was and how it must not have been cleaned in a very long time….yes, we were even charged extra because the clean took much longer due to level of dirt. Even though the lease precisely states the home was to be cleaned when we moved in…it was not.

6. TOO EXPENSIVE for the quality of the home. At $4000 a month, you would have to think that the home would be at least close to a luxury category, it’s not. The home is old, windows don’t work properly, blinds in windows don’t work properly, fixtures and finishes are of poor quality, the kitchen faucet leaks and drips all the time, broken heater on pool, flatware, dishes and linens are dollar store quality. Location is poor, on outskirts of town and a pretty seedy area just a few streets away. This home is in no way anywhere near a $4000/month price point...this is not a get what you pay for type of scenario.
